Italy to play Cameroon in World Cup warm-ups
Italy will play Cameroon on March 3 in Monaco and Switzerland on June 5 in Geneva in warm-up matches for this summer’s football World Cup, the Italian football federation announced on Friday.
The Azzurri, the reigning world champions, will also play a friendly on June 3 against a team to be decided, the federation adding that talks were under way with Mexico.
Cameroon, Switzerland and Mexico will all be making the trip to South Africa for the June 11-July 11 World Cup.
Italy have been drawn in Group F alongside Paraguay (June 14 at Cape Town), New Zealand (June 20 at Nelspruit) and Slovakia (June 24 at Johannesburg).
This sounds like a good muscle flex. But it also give the Cameroonian side an opportunity to rehears strategies before kick-ff especially as they put in a poor performance during the ANC in Angola

In 1990 when we prfromed best at the world cup in Italy,that same year we were sent packing at the knock-out stage of CAN that took place in Algeria.Eventhough this may not be the best analogy in predicting what perfromance Cameroon may exhibit in South Afirca,the Cameroon National Team is One of those rare gem of teams in Africa that was,and is ,and will ,remain to prove their critics wrong,if and only if ,the referees are not a thorn in the flesh of our darling team.There is no doubt that we were humiliated in Angola by under dogs teams ,and even by,our arch rival Egypt.Our National Team is imbue with talented players who have left a foot print in the anals of football,and i must asure you guys that, there is no qualm as regard our Darling Team meeting their opponents in South Africa.Good luck to you all and give no room to FEAR
The World Cup is often a distraction for African teams that have qualified. When the African Nations Cup occurs in the same year, the qualified teams see it as a secondary tournament and don’t put their minds on it because they are looking forward to playing in the World Cup. This might explain why Cameroon never does well in a Nations Cup that takes place in the same year as the World Cup.
It’s partly due to superstition. It’s difficult to divorce the two as far as soccer in Cameroon is concerned.

The diffence was one of our weakest point as well as the attack line..so i hope the coach will come up with some vital solutions on that..beside our attacking midfielders did lack creativity in the games we played in Angola hence making people like Etto to be a shadow of who we always known him to be..so i hope and pray before the world cup..such problems could be solved.
As for our english here..i think this forum was not made for people to demonstrate how perfect thier Grammer is but shear out views as concerns a particuler topic. I think Cameroon is also having an elite soccer championship sponsored by MTN cameroon?where will the players from our first division go to and trained if all the 23 players of the national team are only pros.Let me remind PLG if u can try a player from cameroon first division to play alongside with a pro u will never regret the combination becus,he is also playing to win a contract while pros have nothing to loose.My brothers and sisters does this means to enter the national team one must be a proffessional player?
