Cameroon: Man roasted to death

(Illustration, not actual scene)
A man in Kwa Kwa village in Mbonge sub-division in the South West region of Cameroon has reportedly been roasted to death for allegedly killing his girlfriend Akwe Angeline Tenjoh.
Local newspaper, The Sun, quotes some villagers as saying the man, whose only name was given as Elias had impregnated the girl but neglected her and engaged himself with a housewife under the suspicion of Akwe.
Elias, the villagers are quoted as saying, was furious over the scandal raised by Akwe who accused him of having an affair with a married woman.
It was on this premise that Elias is alleged to have taken offense and went to the farm, met Akwe and butchered her into pieces before dumping her in a stream.
A frantic search for Akwe was engaged when it dawned on the villagers that she was missing. Accusing fingers were thus pointed at Elias and when the angry mob confronted him, he reportedly confessed to having butchered his lover. Cutlass wounds were noticed on his palms apparently as a result of a struggle with the lady.
It is also reported that the culprit confessed that he butchered the lady because she had been scandalizing his name, saying that he has an illicit affair with a married woman and that he has been a notorious killer in the Francophone part of Cameroon.
Angry villagers took him to the village square and set him on fire. He was roasted to death.
OMG!!!
I hate jungle justice but if i were in kwa-kwa,i would participate in this one-poor.Same line of stories, great example of the aspiring independent southern cameroons.Manslaughter, manroasting, man beried alife.OMG,hope it will not get to man eating!
If for you, this is a great example ot the aspiring independent southern Cameroons, then you are not worthy to be followed. No country can prosper in the hands of people thinking this way. What the man did is an abomination, but what they did to him would never be accepted in any civilised country. Please change your mind.
Edgard,i wonder how you cope with English over there.Read to the end,and the irony in what i wrote is clear without lenses. To help you:saying i would participate in kwa-kwa meant just to condemn the man’s act,and the examples of the same line of stories was to condemn jungle justice which we both identify as bad in every modern society. The mention of Southern Cameroons was simply questioning our preparedness for independence with this kind of constant happenings.Bro,allow USA to pass through you before dive into attacking great Wole Soyinka’s legacy.
Tboy, I don’t need to cope with English, I’m well equipped to communicate in English.Don’t you think that a man who boats of ” greatness” in English should be able to write ” …man buried alive..” and not ”…beried alife…” As you did.
So please, let it not become an issue of language level. That’s not why we are on this forum.I see this forum as an asset for the prosperity of our land.
I didn’t meant to offend you.Just that your first declaration did not portray you irony to me.It’s not clear to make one understand your point, the way you eventually explained to me.Having said that.I suggest that we talk to each other with respect, which I think will be more constructive.
Let us discuss with love.We are not enemies but brothers. That’s how we’ll build a better Cameroon.Kind regards.
Thanks Edgard. You are a man of sense.
Manslaughter as defined by law is not the slaughtering of a man.Manslaughter is the unintentional killing of a man .We should not mix up things for what we are reading here is a premeditated murder, by slaughtering.
Oh man! Gruesome! But on the other hand ” They love not poison that do poison need.”
Sounds like story out of the 15th century.
LOL Rastaman… that was poetic!!!
‘He who live by the sourt dies by the sourt”this man had been a notorious criminal instead of him to stay quite in that village area to live his life he start the same harvock again.thank you villages because such people are not suppose to exist for other calamity.good that police where not there.

When Police, prison gaurds, jurges and criminal decide to take part in the same “Njangi” the masses will express justice in their own way. My sympathy to the all the families. No one deserve to loss a familily member under such conditions.
wonders shall never end in Cameroon
MAY BE IT WAS NEW YAM FESTIVAL. MY MAMI EH!
May their souls rest in perfect peace,Let all those who were involve in the burning act be deliver by the precious Blood of Jesus,Son of David have mercy on them,May Your Divine mercy locate and free them from their present sorrow in the Mighty name of Jesus.Amen
Amen oh…
This is a becoming common practice in mostly the Bakundu tribes of S.W. The government should do something to educate folks down there. But Elias got just what he deserved.
May the ALLAH frogive them all.
This is just because everybody has no confident to the authorities. If the law doesn`t want to fix our motherland then mop justice will fix it. The voice of the people is the voice of God “ Vox populi vox Dei“.
this is a tragic for cameroonians
This guy took the law into his hands and so did the angry mob!
I believe Cameroononline and its webmaster could at time refrain from publishing such sub human images. Please, there are images you cant publish like this one for it hurts those who are having a fragile heart. There are children also visiting this site. Please webmaster, you have spoiled my day
Cameroon with it’s strange news captions. Shocker indeed.
He deserved but please let not this type of barbaric justice continue. If this is the type of justice the south west wants to have, and at the same time they want to uptain some type of autononmous statue. I doupt the international observers will encourage them. Start by educating the people first or else you guys are going to be worst than Biya and his folks because they do not burn peoples.
This has not only happened in the SW my friend. People have been burnt nearly in all regions of the country. this has got nothing to do with regions, but with people’s morals for humankind. What could happen with this guy if he wasn’t roasted? What will equally happen to those who have roasted him? If the answer for these questions are positive, then such acts could be prevented in the future. Knowing the situation of law in our country, the lead time by security to arrive a crime scene, these things will always happen.
Jean
Get out my friend.
casara, here you come again-Jean just tok something reasonable but you say make yi commot.anyway,i sure say you bend-bend right from belle.

Wow i use to see this a lot back home, but only in cases where a thief is successfully caught.
Well its another form of justice i should say…
People, this type of news is starting to wear my nerves away! What the f**K!
