Foundation Of Inter & Cameroon Striker Samuel Eto’o Gets Award

La Foundation Eto’o will receive this year’s Cameroon Professional Society Award…

The Cameroon Professional Society (CPS), an organisation of active Cameroonians in the diaspora based in the USA, will present its 2010 annual award for best charitable work to Inter striker Samuel Eto’o’s foundation called La Foundation Samuel Eto’o, for its laudable social engagements in Cameroon.

The CPS was struck by the efforts of Eto’o’s foundation in gathering money and collective energies, via its numerous partners, to better the lives of the disadvantaged populations in Cameroon.

Eto’o’s foundation throughout this year participated in the promotion of education, integration and training of youths in Cameroon. The foundation also takes an active part in the actions of the One Campaign Movement sponsored by Archbishop Desmond Tutu, aimed at promoting peace and human rights throughout Africa.

In the coming years, Eto’o’s foundation will be considering joining the movement of Desmond Tutu, the UN agencies and other media partners to promote the struggle against racism in sports circles, according to reports published by Cameroon’s news outlet Journal Du Cameroun.

The CPS believes that this award destined for Eto’o’s foundation will positively affect young people across the African continent.

After largely investing in youth training in Cameroon, Eto’o launched his foundation in June 2006. The foundation’s major aim is football and business, but priorities have also broadened to include other social engagements in the central African country’s slums.

The foundation recently announced that it has pushed six aspiring Cameroonian footballers into the Barcelona Football Club training facilities. Other activities have yielded the building of a training centre in Kribi and the delivery of two ambulances equipped with operating rooms at the Cameroon’s Department of Health.

Sam, God has given you your structure where you can be the boss and the model and we are grateful and by the way congratulations…it is a great achievement to be awarded by people who see your hard work. One last favor to ask, after all what has gone down in the ILC under your reign, so many times because of your decisions and leadership mistakes–which i know you made with the intention of doing good–let go the role of captain to someone who is gifted in that domain. One who has more “baraka”
    thank you.

  6. patriot .i think you do not get the point here .ettos work is very comendable but do not ever compare roger milla with etto cause that is incomparable .we only have one roger milla .

  7. Allez papa eto we only have one eto not one old guy who did nothing to nobody and played football for free no wonder this old guy can ‘t contained the jealousy any longer.

  8. Sweden Molas international from Jonkopings Lan, Sweden says:

by the time milla was playing football, u Binshua boy was not yet born so i understand if u use comments like that..Eto is a very good player and has won many titles that is a fact…but thanks to the milla u called old we africans can boast of five places in the world cup..U guys hates to be critisiced but after ur demi god Eto was critisiced what u call today as jelousy, what was the end result at south africa.. why didnt ur eto proved him wrong?

  9. United States Mojo from Illinois, United States says:

As Eto’o prepares for life after the game of soccer is over, his first priority is to take the learning and speaking of English language seriously. If he needs advice on this, he can turn to Geremi who has British citizenship and speaks 3 international languages (English, French, and Spanish). No one can deny the fact that that more than any other language on planet Earth, English is the best for public relations.

  10. Canada Ngofendiang Montreal from Quebec, Canada says:

Molas you are really making a fool of yourself, Why are you so myopic? Cameroon National team has never been Roger Milla. Football is a collective game and I don’t see how Roger Milla can boast of five places for African teams in the world Cup. Point of Correction “Indomitable Lion” not Roger Milla please.

    • United States phil from New York, United States says:

Ngofendiang Montreal from Quebec, for your information bro Mr. Milla gave the Continent of Africa the wright to have five teams in the World Cup, and i hope you also know that after South Africa some people even thought Africa should loose some spots. VIVA ROGER MILLA the true LION.

  11. Molas nothing personel just my opinion bro.Don’t take it so hard bro.

    • China Biya from Shandong, China says:

Ngofendiang,Binshua.when Crye insult people in this forum who do not want to reason up well you guys bullied at him.i think that if you guys have nothing to offer in a comment you stay quite not every one must comment in an article if cry reads on your comment will insult you more.if you love Eto’o you better give hail him and stop placing him and Rogers in a balance in terms of wealth.Rogers is a predecessor of Eto’o you guys should be careful

  12. Biya my comments were not meant to upset anybody or change d’etre reason of this forum however your advice as been well taken.

  14. Sweden Molas international from Jonkopings Lan, Sweden says:

Ngofendiang.. with all due respect bro..am not making a fool of my self, the truth remains the truth..If u understands the word “cadre” in a team of eleven players then u will know why i mentioned just the name of R. milla within that exploit of 1990 in Italy. like wise that of early 2000..U will noticed that Mboma was the engine behind those glories even though we had guys like Etame, Foe, Njitap just to name those few. Eto and Milla are completely two different people when it comes to football..with each playing his own role to make the team move. So it baffles me when people compear the two of them…@ Binshua, men no heart feelings bro, we are just shearing ideas likewise learning from each other..cheers

  15. thoes who keep comparing etto with milla will certainly never understand what we realy are talking about .etto will never march roger milla .

  16. lets face the world and ask our selfs of what good is a man without foundation, lets appreciate those that did make us real lions in the eyes of the beholders and complian about those who see no need to keep this ordeal alive my friends lets be factual and say there is nothing eto’o has done on behalf of the country bout his personal achievements of champion leagues, la liga, and italian leagues leaving us with nothing on the countries shelve of awards………

    • Germany letlowbrown, munich from Bremen, Germany says:

how can you say Eto has done nothing for cameroon apart from his personal achievements? who won the olympics in sydney? who won the nations cup in nigeria and in mali? who took us to the finals of the confederations cup in france? who qualified us for this worldcup? who took us to the finals of the nations cup in ghana though playing with injuries? i can understand your anger that cameroon never performed well at the world cup but don´t tend to make Eto look like a looser cos of a worldcup where many things went wrong. i personaly did not see Eto play badly at the worldcup. if others could play the way he did we should have done better. i´m not angry with milla but because of where and when. i think is cos of this public criticism that let to lack of respect in the team. bekenbauer will never criticise ballack in the public a few weeks to the worldcup. that killed the respect Eto deserved as a captain hence letting to people like little alex song and other new comers having the courage to challenge the captain. i never saw milla inhis playing days defending or helping the midfield the way Eto did. milla was good but he played in a better organised and balanced national team than Eto. if Eto played in his squad he should have scored even more than he is doing today. is not a mistake that he left barca and ibrahimovic couldn´t replace him while he still did his maggic the other way at inter. Eto is our best player. you better take it or leave it

      • mind u that all you mentioned was achieved in the company of mboma, late foe, njitap, and regobert song in his youthful days try to recalculate and reckon your facts kk

        • China The Comforter from China says:

Real from Ontario, ask yourself, what have you done to your country Cameroon before rejecting another person effort, yeah men we should tried and appreciate when good things are been done.every day is not a blessed day,God’s timing is the best,

        • Germany letlowbrown, munich from Bremen, Germany says:

mr Ontario. its just the same like i´ll say milla chieved all what he did cos of kunde, mbou emil, and the others who all ran their lungs out for the team. i´m sure if cameroon won the worldcup your praises will be to the others who ran for the team too but when they don´t, it´s Eto you tend to blame. if we all watched thesame worldcup then you have to be honest to yourself and say Eto never played badly.if all the Emmana, webo and the others were just as good as half of Eto atthe worldcup, we should have beaten danemark or japan.

    • United Kingdom eyallow from Newcastle upon Tyne, United Kingdom says:

What are you rambling about my friend? Count your own personal achievements and then relate them to what you have achieved for Cameroon. You may fold your books forever when you realise you haven’t achieved anything worth mentioning for anyone. This includes me too. You may also then realise (including me) that you stand in no place to point a finger at this great achiever who has made himself a football icon and philantropist the world over and who has spurred an entire population Cameroon into profound proudness of being Cameroonian. Who has placed the African game of football on the high charts of international recognition. Eto’o's achievements scale beyond the boundaries of Cameroon to inspire the entire world. I had cold feet when I read your comment about how disrespectful you could be in the face of all this evidence.

      • Germany letlowbrown, munich from Bremen, Germany says:

thanks bro. you said it. you just expressed the words i lacked. cameroonians are fun of criticising instead of criticising theirselves first. i owe you a glass of palmwine

  17. Why do we ALWAYS talk about Roger Milla when the article is about Eto’os’ foundation? Can you stay on message sometime? It is always about a negative for some of you in this forum. We should start celebrating good news people and stay in the positive spirit for a change.

  18. United States Mr. Cameroon alias bon Pays from Wyoming, United States says:

Some of us are big fools on this forum. Why do we distract others al the time? What is His Excellency Milla Roger’s name doing in this article. The African player of the century deserves some respect, watch out please and stop miss using his name in an article that does not concern him.

  19. Idle men counting the achievements of others. Go and read “poor Ricard Almanac” by Benjamin Franklin and see how much time you are wasting in futility

  20. United States Mr. Cameroon alias bon Pays from Wyoming, United States says:

I know idle people like Dignaton spend their time making comments. Great people dont recount what others write. those are simply opinions, my opinions unless counteracted with facts are valid.
