M’Bia fined for late return
Marseille midfielder Stephane M’Bia is facing a fine after arriving back late for pre-season training.
The 24-year-old Cameroon international was three days late to the French side’s training camp after appearing for his country in this summer’s World Cup in South Africa.
However, L’OM president Jean-Claude Dassier insists the matter is already in the past and forgotten about.
“We had a friendly discussion,” Dassier said. “He gave me the reason for his delay and apologised.
“He will be fined. The page has now been turned.”
Meanwhile, it has been confirmed that Souleymane Diawara will be sidelined for between four and six weeks with a muscular injury suffered in Wednesday’s Trophee des Champions clash with Paris Saint Germain.
I wonder how much the fine was. M’bia represented his country well in SA. Dis guy deserves a break. Common now?
Hey Faro , they all had breaks and he overstayed his, what are you insinuating here, an unfair treatment? Then you’re totally wrong
Not insinuating anything, just curious to know what the fine was and if it made any impact. Who knows? Maybe just a drop in the bucket…
That will teach him a lesson. He had the chance to contact his team for permission but he simply ignored it.He simply took things for granted and now it has comeback to haunt him.He deserves to be fined.Let him pay his fine and learn a lesson.Such a behaviour is irresponsible and absolutely unacceptable.
Rules must mean something, errors be punished…. Most of them played in the world cup and returned on time why was he late?? After paying the fine i think he will learn a good lesson.
At least the coaches and managers of clubs should try to understand that there are certain times that things happen not because you want them to,but he apologized for that the fine now is for what?i strongly dis agree with that
dats gud discipline in europe!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Wilfred muma, you may disagree with the fine but that is the law.Appology does not erode an offence. He breached the law and justice must be applied.Law goes with sanction.Law will never serve it’s intended purpose if it doesn’t carry the threat of sanction in the event of any breach.
Players who are not disciplined should be sanctioned. A good footballer or sporter should be disciplined.
