  1. How Much Did he contribute for the construction Work? No Country Just Assign Monuments to Broke People! Rogers Miller did not Invest wisely when he was making big money so, he should not Blame anybody for his situation.

    • Truth and Facts

      Hmmmm!!!
What is wrong with us? Do we just hate people for hating sake or do we just like to criticize and insult people? Is a football stadium a Monument?
Roger Miller did a lot to make Cameroon a house-hold in his active time on the national team.
In his days, he made the national football team proud and we were all proud of the team thanks to Miller contributions.
He deserved a stadium to be named after him. Who else in Cameroon should merit his name on a football stadium better Roger Miller?
I guess you would rather prefer the stadium to be named Dangote stadium, if he pays for it, right?

I don’t know why we are so quick to react negatively to things. Looks where such habits have got the country today.

I think the stadium could be named after him. It will be a good thing.

      • Good reply you’re totally right…

      • good reply….to crown it all its his his village.

He deserves the honor and it makes total sense….few things make sense in Cameroon…this would

        • @heine Any Nonsense Makes sens to the senseless. That stadium will not be maintained and rehabilitated with honor. It Takes money to keep that infrastructure running and operating for many years and no amount of honor will bring in the income need for that purpose.

      • Stadiums are not Monuments but they are not Named for honorably purpose either. Yes .If Dangote is paying for the Construction it should rightfully be Named after him or let the cameroon Government name it after the Municipality where it is located (Njapoma Stadium) . Here in the United states stadiums are Named after Corporate sponsors like the ATT Stadium, Mercedes Stadium etc because they paid for it and they continue to sponsor the teams too ! It is call Capitalism , deal with it .You get money you talk , no getham got dey for your house with your mami

  3. People..Lets be honest and real..
What is wrong in naming the stadium -ROGER MILLA Stadium..
Who is the most popular and successful national team player in Cameroon..?
This Guy brought joy to so many cameroonians …
If you could all remember what he contributed for the qualification of our first ever world cup in 1982 in spain, then the winning od the nations cup for the first time in 1984 in Abidjan, then Cameroon later beat Saudi Arabia to win the Afro-Asian cup In 1986 finals of the nations cup against Egypt that we lost to Egypt and later won in again in 1988…

Dont start talking of private things that Milla is broke..
Look at his contribution and achievements to football and sports in Cameroon……

  4. Biko @ yes he is a national hero for his football ability but its fairer to label every main road to the main football stadiums around the country ( so parents can explain to all aspiring footballers what Milla achived) since he played for the entire nation not just japoma where he comes from .
African nations have to ramp up sponsership within their countries with stadium builds ,especially for the extremely undermanaged maintainance agreements .A stadium is not a one off payment.

    • there’s no limit to honor…so roads can bear his name too, stadiums, and whatever else is deemed suitable….they can all bear his name…few have contributed to the joy of Cameroonians for as long as Milla did…I would rather hear Roger Mills Stadium than Paul Biya or anyone else…whats the street that leads to the Amadou Ahidjo stadium called????? exactly none of us know…so its good for the stadium to be named after him

  5. ZERO VIVRE ENSEMBLE

**** FOOD FOR THOUGHT FOR ROGER MILLA ****

    1. Heroes are normally immortalized POSTHUMOUSLY.
    2. Heroes do not BEG to be immortalized during their lifetime.

  6. Roger Milla is a legend and he gave so much to Cameroon and Africa. He is more deserving of having a stadium, roads and streets named in his honor than the rogues of the Biya regime. He may not have invested wisely but bear in mind that he played at a time that Africans were not given recognition in European leagues, the African leagues were underdeveloped and football at the time didn’t bring much income. He is the African Player of the Century and let’s face it he’s not Iya Mohammed or Hayatou. That Stadium should be aptly named.

    • No person, no matter how important, canvasses for recognition this way. It is bad enough asking for a stadium to be named after him; it is worse to demand that this done BEFORE rather than AFTER he dies. A sane world does not take orders from insane persons!!!!

      • You will be remembered as one of terrorists propagandist, sponsors on this platform no wonder.

        • Apples do not fall too far from the Apple tree, so it comes as no surprise to hear “terrorist” as the war cry of the Yaounde regime’s hound.

    • You have a point. Milla should have received this as an honor rather than imploring for it. The issue of having it named posthumously is good but has this always been the case? That said, his accomplishments should not be devalued. Could Marc Foe be considered for this?

      • John Dinga, you have a good point…it’s unethical to seek recognition the way he is going about it…it doesn’t matter how much anyone has done or contributed to society, it’s not proper to seek recognition in the manner that he is….very good point John Dinga

  9. All this poverty stricken people, should go the Nursing home and stop Draining the country of its resources.Honorary named are bestowed on an individual postpartum. He should feel free and take an early departure if that is his wish. It is not the countries fault that any body failed to plan their future or to plan for retirement. This is the reason youths are unemployed , because beggars like this want to hang around for eternity and Drain the country.

  10. @Kumkum Pass Garri A Majority of this People Investment Wisely and Created Endowment Funds for their Memorial Foundations to fun and Maintain their Legacy.Endowment refer to many Funds or Finance Instruments for defined Purpose. Financial endowment, pertaining to funds or property donated to institutions or in honor of somebody. An endowment fund is an investment fund established by a foundation that makes consistent withdrawals from invested capital for a specific purpose. @Korak

Thanks for the irrelevant lesson on endowment funds.

You tried to propagate false information and I called you out instead of acknowledging you were wrong, you decide to give me a lesson in endowment funds.

“You stated: “Stadiums are not Monuments but they are not Named for honorably purpose either… Here in the United states stadiums are Named after Corporate sponsors like the ATT Stadium, Mercedes Stadium etc because they paid for it and they continue to sponsor the teams too !”

There are dozens of stadiums in the United States that are named after people just for honor and the people did not contribute one dime to the stadium or team!

  12. @KumKum Can you Name any Foundation that Miller Created or any Funds that he has donated for any Purpose? Poverty Mentality is killing Fanatics and Blinding them of the realities of Free Markets and the good that comes with Capitalism. Let the people with deep pockets speak so that the rest of the general population can benefit from their success. If you give anything to poor minded people , they will squander it with prostitutes and come back for more. Welcome to the new world order!

    • Kumkum Pas Garri

      @Korak

You sound very confused. Who said the stadium should be named after Miller because he has donated funds for some purpose?

I agree with naming the stadium after Miller because of his achievements as a football player for Cameroon. You have a right to your opinion, however it is stupid to think that naming a stadium in honor of an icon who has not donated funds for any purpose is poverty mentality.

Naming a stadium after Miller does not mean you are giving something to Miller, it means you are honoring him.

You must be confused by your hatred and jealousy.

Naming a stadium after Miller does not reduce our ability to get sponsorship funds for that stadium. There are many innovative ways of making such deals to work. Get out of your confusion and think!

      • @Kumkum Pas Garri Honorary Name are Given Postpartum for a Reason and One of the reasons is that Leaving Regents still have the opportunity Build a legacy for themselves or a Foundation to carry on their work.DO you know of any initiative started by miller or do you know of any Foundations that miller is working on? • [email protected] il agree with you here, its the responsability of governing bodies to go out and cajole, intimidate and outright embaress companies and affluent persons with their charitable mecanisums , to cough up funds for the stadium and the cherry on the cake is the naming of the stadium in return for majority funding .within the naming theres a certain amount of flattery involved that should be sold its got nothing to do with honour apart from saving the taxpayers money ! Mr Mila can have roads and rounderbouts theres enough un named one around and no sponsers for those apart from taxpayers who will be ok with that, since he did so well playing in the nationals
